Tabou celebrates one of its best years ever! A small brand that has made its mark everywhere from the top spot on the PWA tour all the way down to the local hero at your favorite beach! Famous for progressive shapes and artistic graphics, Tabou is setting the windsurfing world on Fire!
Team Tabou has raised up a new crew of windsurfers. Starting from the grass roots, Fabien Vollenweider has worked with new school windsurfer Thomas Traversa since his early days. “I have known Thomas since he was a little boy and have seen him learn about waves and wind. His surfing style is unique and he is able to translate his surfing skills into windsurfing moves that stand out. He is the Kelly Slater of windsurfing!” says Fabien.
When Tabou first stepped out as an independent brand in 2004, the goal was not about winning contests and trying to dominate the competition scene. The mission statement was to create boards that riders wanted to ride! It was about the heart and soul that Fabien had in his shapes. It was about making a board that had no compromise to performance. It was about delivering a product that windsurfers had been asking for since the beginning!
The first product range in 2004 from Fabien turned some heads. Not only were the boards in high demand because of their smooth graphics, the magazine test reports praised the shapes! Matt Pritchard went on to win the PWA Supercross World Title on the boards and went back to back as World Champion in 2004 and 2005. Since then, Tabou has been in the limelight as one of the shapes to have in your quiver.
Throughout the years, the team has grown. Fabien is instrumental in hand selecting the riders he wants to represent the brand.  Names such as Ross Williams, Alex Mussilini, Cedric Bordes, Valerie Guibado, Antony Ruenes, Arnon Dagan, Davy Scheffers, Thomas Traversa, Junko Nagoshi and Jamie Hancock all have asked to be on the team! These riders represent the brand and have done a great job showcasing the boards and what they are capable of.

Overall a fantastic season that makes Tabou proud of it’s team! “It is a group effort to make this all happen- we have come a long way in the last 5 years and I am very happy about the great success we have all shared” says Fabien
