 Alex Mussolini - Interview 1/7

 Victory: Alex Mussolini

Alex Mussolini Wins the PWA Sylt  Wave World Cup 2009!

It doesn’t happen all that often, but when it does, the wave discipline at Sylt is one of the biggest spectacles on the PWA tour. It is said that more than 50,000 spectators migrate to the final event of the tour to watch the world’s best windsurfer’s battle it out in the rainy, cold and treacherous waters of the North Sea. This year the forecast pulled through and enabled a full double elimination round of waves!
Experience has always been the name of the game in Sylt. The Veterans have usually shined at this venue due to the difficult sailing conditions. It is not very often that one of the new school kids comes in and shuts down the long time pro’s! This year marked the end of an era and the shining of Alex Mussolini who hails from Spain.
Tabou/Vandal are proud to have riders such as Alex that are able to rip in all conditions! I got a chance to sit down with the man of the moment and tap his brain on this great achievement

Alex Mussolini interviewed by Matt Pritchard:

MP:  Alex, it has been a good week for you to say the least! I remember battling with you in Portugal 2005 and saying to myself this kid is gonna win some contests! Now you have done it- how does it feel?

AM: This is the best thing that could happen to a Windsurfer and to a Kid coming from the Mediterranean sea. I knew i could do it, but in waves like Sylt its all about experience and motivation. I don’t have any words to explain how happy i am to win, specially in Sylt. In 2005 i was all about emotions with no brain, i was just going for it, that is why in Sylt your brain needs to be calm and leave the emotions to the side until you get off the water.
